Fax modems can help companies save time, money and effort. Fax modems use computers to transmit images to other fax modems or standard fax machines. Transmission can display on a computer screen to be edited like an ordinary file or be printed out. Because fax modems do not require printers and scanners, units take up less desk space and are cheaper than conventional fax machines. Fax modems are often faster than most regular fax machines, because more powerful units take less telephone time and energy to send transmit messages.
