I appreciate your insights and tips, and I've come across one for you that simply stumps me. The My Favorites list in the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser is disappearing. I go to a Web site and decide I want it in my list of Favorites so I click on Favorites and then select the Add command. But when I run the program again, the Favorites all disappear from view.

I have Windows 98 and use Internet Explorer 5 and want to alphabetize my Favorites folder. But all I see is an option to "organize" it, and this does not include arranging the Web site list alphabetically. This lack of order makes for a slow process, wading through my favorites to find the site I'm looking for. I don't know if a higher version of IE has that option, but when I had downloaded a higher version before just to upgrade (at that time I didn't think to see if it had that option), I got too many pop-ups, so I downgraded back to IE 5.

I'm sure you won't stop putting political cartoons in your paper because some big babies don't like them. I love the cartoons, and your editorial page is the first page I turn to, even before the comics page. I cut out my favorites and have a rather big folder full of them. Keep up the good work.

I have a friend who has lost everything in her Favorites. Is there any chance she can recover them? A: If she hasn't actually deleted anything, she has a good chance. Do a search in Start/ Search/ Files or Folders for a folder named Favorites. She may find several, including the "lost" ones. It's a good precaution to export them to a file every now and then using File/ Import and Export in Internet Explorer.
