Federal tax deposits IRC section 6302(h) has made the electronic transfer of federal tax deposits mandatory. The TAXLINK program, which had been voluntary, will be phased in beginning with the largest taxpayers. Federal tax deposits are deposits required of employers and other taxpayers. The taxes subject to the electronic transfer requirements include payroll taxes, corporate income taxes, unemployment taxes, excise taxes, private foundation tax returns, some association tax returns and others. The taxpayer may use the Automated Clearing House credit or debit method.
