The U.S. Labor Department has finalized long-awaited revisions to the Family and Medical Leave Act regulations to grant eligible workers up to 12 weeks unpaid leave for a serious health condition or a family-related medical event, including caring for a sick family member or newborn.
It was expanded last year to include six months of leave for military families to care for injured service members.
