WINTHROP -- Robin Baxmann recorded a hat trick in the first fame and added another goal in the second as Mountain Valley rolled to a 4-0 victory over Winthrop in MVC boys' soccer action Wednesday.
Baxmann managed three goals on his own, while Josh Rainey assisted with his fourth tally. Kyle Gauvin and Dakota Jacques split time in goal for the Falcons (4-3-1), with a total of six saves between them.

A senior midfielder, Carapresso caught a pass from Adam Bellarin and scored on a one-hopper in the last second to lift Cougars over the defending Class 4A/3A lacrosse state champion Falcons, 5-4.

Things got interesting in the Wayne County Athletic League as Dalton tried to break into the win column against Hillsdale. The Falcons found just enough offense to prevent the 'Dawgs from breaking through and highlight area baseball on Friday night.

RUMFORD -- The Falcons Summer Hoop Camp will run from June 20 to July 1 at Mountain Valley High School for students in grades 2 through 8.
The camp is open to any area youngsters that have the desire to learn more about the great game of basketball, regardless of previous experience. The goal of camp is to fulfill the individual expectation of the participants, whether it is playing in the championship game at Cumberland County Civic Center or engaging in healthy exercise and friendly competition.

AUGUSTA Ryan Burgess got a lot out of his final six minutes of duty at Saturday's state wrestling championships.
Not only did the 112-pound senior from Mountain Valley of Rumford score his 150th career victory, he won his third consecutive individual state title while clinching the Falcons' first Class B team championship in five years.
