FAIRFIELD -- Kearny Financial Corp., holding company for Kearny Federal Savings Bank, said Wednesday it has authorized a plan to buy back over the next 12 months up to 889,506 shares, or 5 percent of its common stock not already held by the company. It is Kearny's fifth announced repurchase plan.
In the last plan, which continued through March 31, the company paid $8.3 million for 804,200 shares, or an average cost per share of $10.32, according to a document filed with regulators.
