Focused on small firms, this paper explores the effectiveness of transformational versus transactional leadership in responding to disruptive environmental change and the need for the firm to balance the exploitation of its existing domain against the need to explore new ventures and modes of operation. The study finds that firms under transformational leadership were more effective in the development of new products, markets, manufacturing and management systems, and new skills and capabilities and earned greater revenues in the process. The study finds the best overall financial performance among the small number of firms whose owners combine both types of leadership.
According to the ILO, the exploitation of migrant workers often takes the form of forced labor: work or service that is exacted under the peril of a penalty and undertaken involuntarily. 6 It consists essentially of exploitation in the place where the work or service is provided. 7 Migrant workers are subjected to forced labor, for example, in the sweatshops of China, the households of Hong Kong, the fish farms of Burma, the garments industries of Bangladesh, the plantations of Malaysia, and homes, ranches, and construction sites in the Middle East.\n For example, American diplomats at the U.S. Embassy in Doha, Qatar collaborated with the Qatar Foundation to sponsor a workshop and competition for budding filmmakers.

It s not like we've never been violated before by the FBI. Not when you know the history of the FBI, a continuing one of pursuing so-called "subversive groups," and the tactics used to destroy organizations and people. The FBI has always been bipolar, working to solve civil rights violations while, at the same time, exploiting Americans' civil rights. What started as an effort to keep the nation safe from subversive Communist influences in the 1940s (after World War II), became mostly a domestic counter-intelligence program in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The NAACP, SCLC, the Nation of Islam, SNCC, the Black Panther Party, US, CORE, the ADL, NOW, Anti-War Groups, Labor Unions and (some) Churches were all identified as subversive groups during Hoover's Era of "protecting national interest...

We develop a process framework of entrepreneurship covering exploration and exploitation of the opportunity as well as the entrepreneur's exit, and suggest that dialectic process theories have the potential to explain the transitions between these phases of the entrepreneurial process. In addition, we apply theories from the fields of sociology, economics, and strategy to better understand and explain various salient activities within the entrepreneurial process. A particular contribution is to increase awareness of the exit phase of the entrepreneurial process, the transition into this phase, as well as the link between entrepreneurial exit and re-entry decisions.
The program has as its basic objective to shelter the ways of life and the culture of the forest-dependent populations whose existence is based on sustainable systems of exploitation of the natural resources (sometimes including logging) developed through generations and adapted to local ecological conditions. The program advocates six environmental goals: reducing deforestation, absorbing atmospheric carbon, recovering hydrological functions of the ecosystems, conserving land, preserving biodiversity, and reducing the risk of fire.
