CHICAGO, March 17 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) today announced that it plans to launch futures contracts based upon median prices in the National Association of Realtors(r) existing-home sales data. Through a licensing agreement with NAR, CFE has created five new futures contracts designed to track the median price of existing-home sales nationally and in four distinct regions within the United States. CFE plans to launch the new contracts in the second quarter of 2006, pending regulatory approval. ORLANDO, Fla., May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Florida's existing home and existing condo sales rose in April, according to the latest housing data released by Florida Realtors(R). Existing home sales increased 2 percent last month with a total of 17,192 homes sold statewide compared to 16,781 homes sold in April 2010, according to Florida Realtors. On Wednesday the National Association of Realtors will release changes to its existing home sales data after a revision process that started in March. There are no changes to median home prices in Tulsa and few changes in the Oklahoma City and Norman Multiple Listing Services, according to real estate executives.

WASHINGTON - Orders for durable goods like aircraft and electronics fell unexpectedly in August, while sales of new homes rose less than expected. The weak reports renewed concerns about whether the economy can sustain a recovery with consumer spending held back by job losses, tight credit and falling home values. Still, economists said the figures - which follow weaker-than- expected data on existing home sales Thursday - also reflect a volatile economy emerging from the worst recession since the 1930s.
