This study surveyed the professional needs of a randomly chosen 125 English language teachers from Amman (1st and 2nd ) directorates of education. By using a close questionnaire, the study revealed different professional needs demanded by EFL teachers which embodied the need for effective organization of the EFL curriculum and welcoming teachers' remarks on it, securing instructional media and facilities for effective English language instruction, raising students' motivation and attitudes towards English language, the need for training courses to mix with native English speaking communities, the need to use appropriate EFL teaching methods, the need to understand the EFL teacher's new roles and the necessity of effective in-service training of English language teachers. Col. Norman Scott McTague, of Prince George County, died Dec. 31, 2007, after a spirited contest with a number of illnesses, He was 86. For the past four years, he has been aided beyond measure by the skilled and compassionate care of Mrs. Mary Burrow, CNA, who was his home care provider.
Col. McTague was born in Okmulgee, Okla. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940, and later attended officer candidate school. In 1943 he met and married Emelia (Millie) Frances Rutyna, his wife of 60 years. He fought in New Guinea and the Philippines in World War II. His military career included the occupation of Japan, two tours of Germany, as battery commander and later battalion commander, artillery instructor in Vietnam, and Korea.
