- Mrs. Eula Mae Wilson Jones, 86 of Cadley Road entered into rest December 28, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late A. D. "Tutt" Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Baston officiating. Interment will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Kelsey Jones, Franke Jones, Gary Jones, Jerry Guy, Kevin Watkins and Wayne Watkins.

Funeral services for Ms. Eula Smith Jones, who entered into rest March 6, 2004 will be conducted this Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Rev. Howard Harden officiating. Burial will be in Pine Cemetery, Waynesboro, Ga.
Survivors include two sons, Antonio Smith of Topeka, Kan., Harrie Thomas Jones, Jr. of Hampton, Va.; a niece, Yvonnie Hicklen of Washington, D.C.; 13 grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mattie Jones of Augusta and a host of other relatives and friends.

One of the nation's top blues performers, Sam Myers, who has played in Dayton many times, died Monday in his Dallas home. Mr. Myers, who was 70, was diagnosed with throat cancer in February 2005. He had been unable to perform with his band, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, since 2004.
His sister, Eula Jones, said, "He couldn't talk in recent years and he stayed with friends who took care of him.

BRANCHVILLE - Dolly Rose Murphy Goodwyn, born Nov. 1, 1924, was the ninth and last surviving child of the late Lester and Hattie Parker Murphy. Baptized at an early age, she grew up as a member of Rising Star Baptist Church and as a student in Southampton County Public Schools. On July 1, 1944 she married the late Sam Green Goodwyn. To this 63-year union four children were born, Deborah Ann, Doreen Celestine, Samuel Bernard and Walter Frank. In addition, the couple was blessed with an adopted daughter, Eula Paige; and a foster son, Demetrick Jones.
Dolly, affectionately known as Dot and later as Ms. Dolly, was an award-winning agent for North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company for close to 30 years. She loved her church and community and dedicated her life to her family.
