Paris, Je T'aime consists of 18 five-minute films, by a constellation of international directors; each film is set in one of Paris's arrondissements or districts. (Actually, there are 20 arrondissements, but for reasons that aren't entirely clear, two of the short films were omitted.) I could fill up this whole review with the names of the featured directors and actors, but I'll limit myself to a few. Among the directors: Americans Joel and Ethan Coen, Gus Van Sant, horror-meister Wes Craven and Sideways's Alexander Payne; France's Sylvain Chomet (The Triplets of Belleville) and Gérard Depardieu; Germany's Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run); Brazil's Walter Salles; Mexico's Alfonso Cuarón; and on and on. Stanley was a member and deacon of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church and teacher for many years of the Friendly Men's Bible Class. PORTLAND - There must have been a great deal of physical effort that went into mounting the 2009 Portland Museum of Art Biennial - but not so much the kind of effort that involves hanging paintings and placing sculptures. The biennial includes some of the largest installations the museum has mounted, including Wade Kavanaugh's undulating piles of Sheetrock, Sam Van Aken's sphere made of speakers and car stereo amps, and Freeport artist Ethan Hayes-Chute's cabin and outhouse, a work so large it sits in the museum's lobby.

A lot of long bus and van rides finally led to the best ride of all for Ethan Graham. Thousands of fans lined the streets of the Michigan State campus April 8 as the convertible carrying Graham and two other hockey captains led a welcome home motorcade for the NCAA Division I hockey champions.
Judge Thomas Aaron Hutcheson, Sr., age 84, of 615 Evergreen Drive in Sandersville died Tuesday morning October 13 following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 15 in the First Christian Church of Sandersville. The Rev. Dale Andrews will officiate with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.
