It must have been the darkest day the disciples had ever known. Everything they had given up in order to follow the man they called "Master" seemed in vain. Peter and Andrew had literally left their fishing boats to follow the one who said, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Then there were two other fishermen, James and John, who immediately left their nets and followed Jesus. There must have been something compelling about this man that they would straightway leave their livelihood and follow him.

In the desert of the world, in a place east of the Euphrates River, the great and ardent angel of the flashing sword, Guardian Metatron, saw it all approaching. He saw them coming toward that sacred and forbidden place where the Tree of Eternal Life once bloomed and flowered in full and primal glory. America remains a nation of believers, but a new survey finds most Americans don't feel their religion is the only way to eternal life even if their faith tradition teaches otherwise. The findings, revealed Monday in a survey of 35,000 adults, can either be taken as a positive sign of growing religious tolerance, or disturbing evidence that Americans dismiss or don't know fundamental teachings of their own faiths.

At times the Bible reveals teachings and concepts that Christians accept by faith but many who are not Christians find difficult to understand. One such teaching is the concept of eternal life. When you hear eternal life, various questions arise that beg for an answer. Questions such as, "What is it? What does it look like? Who has experienced it? Why do I need it? Can you buy it? Let's begin with a definition of eternal, the Collegiate dictionary defines eternal as without beginning or end; existing outside of time; having a beginning but without interruption or end; unaffected by time; lasting; timeless.
