Billionaire investor Warren Buffett says he's concerned about "stagflation," or slowing in the U.S. economy while inflation accelerates.
We're right in the middle of it right now," said Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., based in Omaha, Neb., in an interview Wednesday on Bloomberg Television. "I think the 'flation' part will heat up, and I think the 'stag' part will get worse.

The rate of accidents per insured vehicle fell 0.5 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier after increasing in 2007, according to Insurance Services Office Inc. in Jersey City.

Julia and Evan Campbell, a two-car couple in Medford, Mass., will soon become a one-vehicle family.
The registration on their 13-year-old Ford Ranger expired last month, and to save on insurance, fuel and fees, they plan to sell the pickup and rely on the Boston region's public-transit system and their Honda CRV sport-utility vehicle.
