NEW YORK, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Japan-based FUKAI Environmental Research Institute, Inc. invites the press for a public demo of its innovative technology that generates hydrogen energy at the world's lowest cost - and may hold the key to future alternatives to petroleum-derived fuel in both industry and households.
This newly developed technology generates hydrogen by adding aluminum or magnesium to what is known as "functional water" in the boiling state. The amount of hydrogen generated is 2.0L per 1g of aluminum or 3.3L per 1g of magnesium.

Early last week and despite feeling under the weather, Susan Shaw started her day at the Marine Environmental Research Institute probing the mouth of a dead harbor seal pup.
The pup had been stranded the day before on Little Deer Isle and died overnight. Rescue specialists from the College of the Atlantic recovered the body and dropped it off at Shaw's lab that morning. Pointing to the pup's toothless gums, Shaw declared the pup just a few days old and badly undernourished.

BLUE HILL - A year after the explosion on the BP Deepwater Horizon offshore oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, the oil that spewed from the damaged rig continues to have an impact on the Gulf Coast environment, marine life and coastal residents, according to a Blue Hill scientist.

Fifty-one percent of small business owners surveyed in June of this year anticipate their 2010 revenues will exceed their 2009 sales. A year ago, only 32 percent expected better financial performance in 2009 than the prior year.
