- Rocky Mountain Field Institute has named Becky Reed executive director. Reed was previously the associate director and program director for the organization, which is dedicated to the restoration of natural areas through volunteer stewardship, environmental education and restoration research.
- Dennis Lesko has been named vice president of marketing for The Broadmoor. He served in the same capacity at the resort from 1993 until 2001. The state Senate on Sunday approved a capital budget that includes $700,000 to design a new classroom and research center at the site east of the Interstate 205 Bridge on the old Evergreen Highway. Gov. Christine Gregoire is planning to sign the bill, but a spokeswoman said the governor is still going through it section by section to determine where she will exercise her line-item veto power.
