Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte were upstaged Sunday by opponents from Australia, Brazil and New Zealand at the Santa Clara International Grand Prix, allowing America's elite female swimmers to take center stage at George F. Haines International Swim Center. On the final day of competition at the last significant tuneup prior to the FINA World Championships, U.S. stars Jessica Hardy, Kathleen Hersey, Ariana Kukors and Rebecca Soni shined bright, placing themselves firmly in medal contention at the July 24-31 meet in Shanghai, China.
