It's reprehensible that President Obama has turned the "oil spill" that is a national catastrophe, into a political event. Case in point: Over two weeks ago, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a conservative Republican, literally begged the president for a "barrier plan approval" to allow dredging up sand in order to build a protective barrier for the Louisiana wetlands. The president has used various lame excuses to "put off" his request until recently. Why? Isn't this oil spill a life-changing event for Louisiana and neighboring states? Doesn't that qualify as a national emergency, Mr. President?
