The Federal Emergency Management Agency, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on a proposed revision of a currently approved information collection. In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, this notice seeks comments concerning the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Grant Program.
A push to bring a state-of-the-art emergency operations center to the High Desert has gained momentum with approval of an agreement with Hesperia to begin design and environmental studies. The $11.5million High Desert Public Safety Operations Center, if approved for construction, would be housed in the High Desert Government Center that opened last year on Smoke Tree Street.

SPRINGFIELD - On the eastern fringe of Illinois' capital city stands a monument to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. It's not a statue or a plaque, but a $19 million building housing the state's Emergency Operations Center, the nerve center for the state when disasters strike.
State and business leaders cut the ribbon on the new Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center in Baton Rouge. The facility, thought to be the first of its kind in the nation, will serve as a base for business and volunteer organizations taking part in disaster response efforts and other emergencies. A collaborative effort between state government and the business and academic communities, the LA BEOC will work with businesses to improve their disaster preparedness, improve communication with business and industry before, during and after disaster events and develop accurate economic impact estimates to support decision making and requests for business assistance.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will submit the information collection abstracted below to the Office of Management and Budget for review and clearance in accordance with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The submission will describe the nature of the information collection, the categories of respondents, the estimated burden (i.e., the time, effort and resources used by respondents to respond) and cost, and the actual data collection instruments FEMA will use.
REDLANDS Severe weather has killed at least three people in the state and prompted city officials Wednesday to activate the Emergency Operations Center housed in Fire Station 264. Department heads and support staff from the Police, Fire, and Public Works departments gathered to handle weather-related problems and track a second storm that threatened to come in from Riverside. Los Angeles city officials opened a new $107 million state-of- the-art Emergency Operations Center on Thursday, fulfilling part of the promise of a 2002 bond measure. The two-story, 84,000-square-foot facility, just east of City Hall, was funded through Proposition Q, a $600 million bond measure that provided funds for 14 new police and fire facilities that will culminate in October with a new police headquarters.

Disasters are all too familiar to residents of San Bernardino County, and the Emergency Operations Center is the nerve center that coordinates our response during these crises," 1st District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt said in a statement.
