DENVER, Dec. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Emergency Medical Service (EMS) helicopter pilots, members of Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 109 employed by Air Methods Corporation based in Denver, Colorado have ratified a new agreement covering more than 1,000 pilots. AMC operates in 45 states transporting close to 100,000 patients annually as the nation's largest provider of air medical emergency transport services and systems.
The agreement was reached after strenuous negotiations conducted over two and a half years under the auspices of a mediator provided by the Federal Mediation Board. The contract was ratified by a wide margin. The secret ballot ratification vote was conducted by Ballot Point.

Its 2002 ambulance is small and out of date, but Ross/West View Emergency Medical Service Authority officials don't know where they'll find the money to pay for its replacement.
The new vehicle, ordered last year, was supposed to be funded through the financial support of the five municipalities. However, when Ross officials axed their contribution from a lean budget in late December, Millvale, Ohio Township, Reserve and West View followed suit.

Platteville Emergency Medical Service will be upgrading to an EMT Intermediate Technician level ambulance service beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, March 20.
With changing service levels, Platteville EMS will be providing Advanced Life Support services to its primary service area which includes all of Platteville, Platteville and Lima townships along with portions of Ellenboro, Elk Grove, Smelser, Harrison and Belmont townships.

Struggling with a dwindling number of volunteers to answer ambulance calls in the town, the volunteer firefighters in Orchard Park decided to create a nonprofit corporation with paid paramedics.
Orchard Park Fire District EMS, working alongside volunteers, debuted Monday, weeks earlier than planned after New York State expedited the necessary approvals.
