Four candidates for Shelby County Sheriff may not get on the May 4 primary ballot because they missed a deadline to file paperwork with a state law enforcement commission.
The candidates affected are James H. Bolden, William Cash, Elton Hymon and Erick Snyder, said Richard Holden, election administrator for the Shelby County Election Commission.

The Shelby County Election Commission on Thursday approved the May 4 primary ballot without the names of sheriff candidates James Bolden and Elton Hymon, who both withdrew from the race.
The men did not meet the deadline to submit paperwork to the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.
