Grandparents: Doug and Judie Smith, Stanford; Stephanie Hodson, Moline; Mike and Sherry Benhart, Rock Island. Great-grandparents: Rosalie Weber, Bellerose, N.Y.; Les and Louise Benhart, East Moline. He shares his first name with his maternal great-grandfather, the late Joseph McGovern. He is middle named for his maternal grandfather.
