Hilltop Elementary School Principal Louise DeJesu loves children and goes to bat often for some of the most vulnerable kids in the system.
So the only one who was surprised that she received the 2011 Jennifer Summers Bassett Champion of Children award by the Early Childhood Coalition was DeJesu, who was kept unaware that she was honored until a surprise presentation on Wednesday.
