SALT LAKE CITY – A remote control that handicapped individuals could use for chores, including locking their door, adjusting the thermostat and turning on the radio, was just one of many inventions showcased by University of Utah electrical engineering students Thursday. The seniors showed off their thesis projects during an open house on campus at the University Guest House and nearby Fort Douglas Officer's Club.

On the heels of its acquisition last year of Dupont Engineering, Interface Engineering continues to find companies to acquire that mesh well with its corporate culture and business plan, according to Interface president Omid Nabipoor. Interface announced this week it has acquired two local companies: James D. Graham and Associates, a 31-year-old electrical consulting engineering firm, and Bouillon Engineering, a mechanical and electrical consulting firm. Graham and Associates specializes in health care, institutional, educational and critical facilities. Bouillon Engineering specializes in energy consulting, commercial, institutional, mixed-use and government projects.
