I have a question about a house I'm selling. The home was inspected, and the report asked that I increase the air supply to the laundry room, where the furnace and water heater also are located. This is a newer home built in 2008. Is this a reasonable request, and if so, why? The inspector my real estate agent hired did not find any problems when I purchased the home.
If your home has an electric furnace and water heater, I cannot think of a logical reason to add additional air. If, on the other hand, the home has a gas-fired furnace and water heater or any gas- fired appliance, the room may very well need "make up" air to replace the air that is consumed during the combustion cycle of the appliances.

When the rest of the country is busy guarding their goodies, people here often ask, "Is there something more we can do?" Donations nationwid...

Bouchard, who with his brother, Craig, took control of Wheeling-Pitt late last year after a bitter proxy fight, said they knew going into it that significant outlays of cash and resources would be required to keep the struggling steelmaker operating until themerger was accomplished, but unexpected outages in two key areas - the company's much-touted new electric arc furnace as well as its basic oxygen furnace - coupled with a surge in scrap steel prices compounded the problems.
