The Scholastics employed their negative method in speaking of God, medieval Arabic philosophers observed their tanzih, and Hegel his dialectic, but to say that Santayana has a method, even acknowledging his unfading naturalistic reduction, may be to overstate the case. Empedocles had put forward the theory that existing animal species with all the apparent adaptation of their parts are simply the result of natural selection by the survival of the fittest; that nature had produced an enormous variety of species, and only the fittest to survive had remained.

We argue that this sample fits somewhere in between the controlled or working addict, and the "junkie" or "righteous dope fiend" of urban lore. We draw a connection between these stable patterns of addiction and income generation a...

This is all about celebrating Labor Day - I wish we would rename it Leadership Day. This is not about brawn versus the brain or the bandwidth, but about celebrating the leadership potential of those who are closest to the customers but are not taken seriously as leaders by their employers.
These are the individuals whose telephone conversations with customers are recorded for quality assurance. As a customer, I often wonder why would a company want me to speak with a representative whose quality it does not trust?
