Aida Maria Graciela De La Heria Graupera, 89, has entered into rest on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the daughter of Evaristo and Magdalena de la Heria and the loving wife of Charles Graupera. Both spent much of their lives as educators. Mrs. Graupera earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Havana. She and her husband Charles founded St. Joseph's School in Havana, Cuba.
In Lancaster, she was the first bilingual case worker employed by Catholic Social Services to address the needs of a growing Latino community. She retired from the School District of Lancaster as an English as a Second Language instructor at Edward Hand Junior High School.
