In a bitter fight between ex-law firm partners, an attorney is planning to appeal a judge's $1.64 million judgment against him.

For the past 13-plus years, tennis star Jimmy Connors has been fighting his ex-attorney and an Illinois law firm in court. That long battle appears to have ended with a victory for Connors.
The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled June 30 that Connors shouldn't have to pay for litigation between his former attorney, Edward Brennan, and Brennan's former law firm partner. Connors was once Brennan's client. The ruling marked the end of multiple lawsuits that have ensnared Connors since 1997.
