West Virginia University Tech's football program was sacked Monday, ending a tradition of more than 90 years on the gridiron. The Legislative Oversight Commission on Educational Accountability met in Charleston Monday and adopted the recommendations of a state Higher Education Policy Commission committee that recently submitted a report that included dropping the football program at the Montgomery school.
