  • WASHINGTON, May 17 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and Georgetown University today announced their agreement to open a campus of Georgetown's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) in Doha, the capital of the state of Qatar, next fall. Under the agreement signed today by Qatar Foundation Chairperson Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned and Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia, Georgetown University will begin offering courses to its first class of undergraduates in Qatar in August 2005.

  • WALLINGFORD, Conn. - , 90, formerly of Auburn and Winchester, Mass., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Wallingford, Conn., with one of her daughters by her side. She was born in Auburn, Dec. 10, 1916, the daughter of Mary Flynn Walsh and William Edmund Walsh. She was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1934. She continued her education and graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, in 1938. She then taught school in Maine, in Dresden Mills and at Brunswick High School, before moving to Boston, where she earned a master's degree in educational counseling at Boston University.
