JACKSON - Gov. Haley Barbour often says that Mississippi's economy slips into recession before the rest of the country and then recovers ahead of the national economy, but the latest state economic indicators show the reverse.
The state's economy continued to decline in February, continuing a trend that began in early 2008, while national economic indicators point to a recovery, according to the April edition of Mississippi's Business, a monthly publication produced by state Institutions of Higher Learning's Bureau of Forecast and Analysis.
