A man suspected in the killing of a cab driver Tuesday afternoon was shot by local law enforcement later in the day. The suspect was shot in the body in the North Park Apartments on Wellington Avenue, according to Vanderburgh County Sheriff Eric Williams. The suspect, whom Williams declined to identify, was taken to a hospital.
After a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday night, members of Charleston's new City Council set a date for a hearing on a dispute of last month's elections. Charleston Mayor Danny Jones, fresh off a Kanawha circuit judge's ruling earlier Tuesday that dismissed an emergency petition to stop the ceremony, was sworn in along with 21 members of the council.

Two veteran El Paso County Commissioners won't support a proposal regarding term limits by a newly sworn-in commissioner - just yet. Commissioner Darryl Glenn requested at Tuesday's board meeting that next week's agenda include a conversation about term limits. Glenn and other elected county officials took the oath of office earlier Tuesday.
