Duncan-WilLiams Inc. announced Tuesday that it has added a new branch office in Akron, Ohio.
Tom Jewett, a 23-year veteran of the financial services industry, joins Memphis-based Duncan-Williams as a branch manager and a senior vice president of the company's Private Client Group. Jewett will lead the expansion of the Akron office.

Little more than a year after celebrating his family firm's 40th year in business, local investment banker Duncan Williams is aggressively planning for the agency's golden anniversary in 2019.
By then Williams expects Duncan Williams Inc. to surpass $500 million in top-line revenues and extend its reach beyond regional markets. That goal drives the firm's "500@50" initiative, a plan that Williams discussed Tuesday at forum sponsored by the Greater Memphis Chamber .

GUILFORD -- The Board of Selectmen has approved the sale of $5.22 million in municipal bonds to Advest Inc., the lowest of five bidders. The bids, four received electronically, one by fax last week, were close, ranging from Advest's bid of 3.939 percent interest to First Trust Portfolio, which bid 4 percent.
Other bidders were Duncan-Williams Inc., 3.969 percent; Roosevelt & Cross Inc., 3.995 percent; and FTN Financial Capital Markets, 3.999 percent.
