WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Republican Governors Association (RGA) today launched an ad focused on the issue of Doug Forrester's integrity to correct the millions of dollars worth of false attack ads paid for by Democrat Jon Corzine.
The RGA is very much involved in New Jersey issues and we produced this ad to set the record straight on Doug Forrester, rather than see him become some product of millions of dollars worth of false attack ads bought and paid for by Jon Corzine," said RGA Executive Director Mike Pieper.

Doug Forrester is handy with a plumbing wrench and a tube of caulk.
Jon S. Corzine is a fan of the NBA's most valuable player of 1964.

Democrats have been rooting through Doug Forrester's background for years, particularly the drug benefits business that made the Republican rich enough to run for U.S. Senate and now governor.

Dead heat
Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine and Republican Doug Forrester, candidates for governor of New Jersey, are in a statistical dead heat among voters likely to show up at the polls on Election Day.
-
Democrat Jon Corzine will leave the U.S. Senate for the governor's office, where he has promised to boost property tax rebates, expand health-care coverage and enact historic ethics and campaign-finance reforms.
Corzine handily defeated Republican Doug Forrester in Tuesday's election, winning one of the most costly and caustic campaigns New Jersey has seen.
-
[Doug Forrester] has spent more than $8 million on his primary bid compared to $1.4 million spent by [Bret Schundler]. In addition, Forrester has been endorsed by more county Republican committees than the Ol nominee. A just-completed Quinnipiac (Conn.) University poll showed Forrester leading Schundler by 39% to 33% statewide, with the remaining candidates in single digits.

Last time around, Doug Forrester needed only an instant to make up his mind to run for office. This time he needed the better part of a year.
Forrester has more money than any of his GOP opponents in the race for governor. More people know his name. The Republican establishment figures he's their best shot at staying close to Democrat Jon Corzine in the fall.
