West Carrollton has a major rebuilding project on its hands with the volleyball and girls basketball programs, and athletic director Rob Dement thinks he has the right architects to create the blueprints. Dement recently hired Heath Starcher as the head coach of the volleyball team and Craig Harden to lead the girls basketball program.
It has been said, by no less of a philosopher than Kermit the Frog, that it ain't easy being green. But on Evansville's and in Posey County, some people are going the extra step to be as green as possible. Going "green" -- attempting to preserve Earth's natural resources while decreasing pollution -- is seen by some as a way to protect the environment and fight global warming, while others see it as an economic strategy for reducing costs associated with inefficient design, construction and maintenance of businesses and homes.

Mega-millionaires are putting their pricey ranches on the market, reports the Wall Street Journal, because "the remoteness and roughing-it that once seemed so alluring can get tiresome." Don Lucas, a venture capitalist from California, said he hoped that buying a ranch in Montana would bring him closer to the land. Instead, he found the ranch so isolated that mail took a week to arrive and newspapers came a day late; he had to fly in his friends, he said, "just to have people around." But selling these elaborate spreads won't be easy.
