The former chief executive of Allendale-based Energex Systems spent $2,140 of it taking his wife to the Winter Olympics in Italy in 2006, $4,860 on a Florida cruise and $25,000 on a donation to a national Republican Party political committee -- part of the $2.1 million in company funds that the New Jersey Attorney General's office alleges Fagan used for personal expenses.

BANGOR, Maine -- A motion made and seconded to accept the donation of a content management system by a company co-owned by Bangor Councilor and Mayor Cary Weston quickly led to disagreement and debate among councilors.
The motion, made at the end of Monday afternoon's finance committee meeting, was to vote on the approval of the donation of software valued at around $7,000 by Sutherland-Weston Marketing/ Communications of Bangor for use by the city as part of its redesigned website.

Southaven Mayor Greg Davis violated state law when the city reimbursed him $1,000 for a donation he made to a political action committee supporting Mississippi State University, his alma mater.
The donation - made in March to the Mississippi Coalition for Progress, more commonly known as the Bully Bloc - represented an illegal contribution to a PAC by a governmental entity, according to the Mississippi Auditor's Office.

The Redlands Historical Museum recently received six watercolor and oil artworks by the late Redlands artist Jean Larson Cranmer. The paintings were a donation from Kimberly Crest House and Gardens Gift Shop Committee from some 200 paintings that came to that historic mansion from the Cranmer estate several years ago.
John Waldum, the chairman of the Kimberly Crest Gift Shop Committee, said that Kimberly Crest also intends to give several other paintings to three or four Redlands organizations that could display Cranmer's work. Then a major sale of the artwork is planned as a fundraiser for Kimberly Crest.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Congressional candidate Rod Blum made a $5,000 donation to a new conservative political action committee just four days after the PAC endorsed him, campaign finance reports show.
Blum, however, scoffed at any implication the donation was a reward for or purchase of the group's endorsement.
