AMES, Iowa - Asked about his team's disastrous turnover ratio, Iowa State football coach Paul Rhoads harkened back to his youth and quoted a Donald Sutherland line from the 1970 movie "Kelly's Heroes.

This is a first for me. I've never had a column published on this day.
I know I'd remember because it's the birthday of actors Donald Sutherland, David Hasselhoff and James Cagney, along with comedienne Phyllis Diller, financier John Jacob Astor, war hero John Paul Jones and reality show producer ("Survivor," "The Apprentice") Mark Burnett. It's also the birthday of my nephew Christopher, my cousin Millie, my friend Rachel Rogier - and me!

CELEBRITIES BORN ON THIS DAY: Alex Winter, 46; David Hasselhoff, 59; Diahann Carroll, 76; Donald Sutherland, 76.
Happy Birthday: Money spent on your surroundings, stability and security will pay off. Focus on how you can cut corners and accommodate what's important to you, and you will gain greater recognition from the people who count. Offering services to others will bring in extra cash that results in greater control over your future.

In his salad days, [Marlon Brando]-cinema's first "method actor" - was badly beaten in "The Wild One" and in his Oscar-winning "On the Waterfront" (both 1954), "One-Eyed Jacks" (1961) and "The Chase" and "The A...
