The public voted for president Nov. 2. The ballots that really count will be cast today. In Connecticut, seven state residents, members of the Electoral College, will gather at the state Capitol in Hartford to vote for president and vice president. Electors cast votes simultaneously throughout the 50 states and the District of Columbia, said Connecticut Deputy Secretary of the State Maria Greenslade.
From there, Greenslade said, ballots will be collected, sealed and forwarded to Vice President Dick Cheney, who serves as president pro tempore of the U.S. Senate.

JACKSON The Mississippi Secretary of State's Office will study a court ruling that struck down the Texas voter identification law to see if it might have an impact on Mississippi's law.
Pamela Weaver, a spokeswoman for Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that officials in Hosemann's office, who have been monitoring Isaac, will look at the ruling from a three-judge panel of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
