Reverse the persistendy high percentages of people with disabilities who are not working but are ready, willing, and able to work. Seventy percent of people with significant disabilities are unemployed. In 2006, the average annual household income for Americans without disabilities was $65,400, compared with $36,300 for Americans with disabilities. The Center for Disability Rights will appeal a court decision allowing Monroe County to terminate its contract with the agency. Matthew J. Fusco, of ChamberlainD'Amanda, who represents the center, said he filed a notice of appeal Wednesday with Monroe County Supreme Court.
