Through Amistad Suffolk County Black Bar Association, the organization he helped found and continues to lead as a member of its board of directors, Robinson promotes his group as an employee pool.

Services for were held Aug. 1, 2008 at Church of Our Father Missionary Baptist Cfiurch with the Rev. Bernard Byles officiating. Mr. Ambers, 87, passed away July 26.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, [Bernice Williams]; three sons; one daughter; grandchildren, Lisa, Tyra, Derrick, Dwayne, Nakeita, Michael, Raven and Centhonee; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Graves, Aggie Baity and Helen Robinson; as well as a host of other relatives.
The family moved to Detroit when he was 3 years old and he received his education in the Detroit Public Schools, graduating from Miller High School.
