The U.S. Department of Labor last month launched its first smartphone application, presently available only for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The app is a timesheet that helps employees independently track the hours they work and determine the wages they are owed. Users can track regular and overtime hours and break times for one or more workers, in English or Spanish; links go to the DOL's Wage and Hour Division webpages. Users also can add comments related to the work they are doing; view summaries in daily, weekly or monthly formats; and email their work and wage information.
