LONDON (Reuters) - While banks may be thinking of moving their headquarters from the UK to dodge new regulations, London's status as the centre of Europe's hedge fund industry looks secure.
The UK capital, second only to New York as a hedge fund hub, is even luring back some managers who decamped to Switzerland to escape heavier taxes and regulation.

AUGUSTA - Maine Democrats attempted to ratchet up the pressure on GOP gubernatorial nominee Paul LePage on Tuesday, accusing the candidate of potentially slanderous statements against a Democratic party official.
The chairman of the Maine Republican Party, meanwhile, fired back by suggesting that Democrats are focusing on creationism and other social issues in an effort to distract voters from the economic problems facing Maine.

Senators on both sides of the aisle on Sunday said lawmakers should have been briefed about a sensitive national security program that reportedly was concealed for eight years, but Republicans warned that continued scrutiny could undermine the U.S. war effort.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said Sunday that CIA Director Leon E. Panetta told lawmakers last month about the program, developed in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, which he said was kept secret under direct orders from Vice President Dick Cheney.

As several of the justices of the Supreme Court spent the off week attending events around the country, members of the media asked them obligatory questions about the pending challenge to the federal health care law, which was heard last week.

Support among legislators grew yesterday for declaring an emergency in Virginia to stem problems with illegal aliens, while the three gubernatorial candidates said they don't think the state has reached an immigration crisis.
Several lawmakers and political hopefuls said Gov. Mark Warner must declare a state of emergency - like the governors of Arizona and New Mexico did last week - to win more federal funds and manpower in the fight to stem the flow of illegal aliens into the state. They also urged the candidates in the Nov. 8 gubernatorial election to take action.

Trannies are generally as demur as she-males are exotic, but under both their wigs they've got some of the same 'trapped in the wrong body' feelings. Drag queens are like rental birthday clowns at gay parties. We're not women trapped in male bodies. We're celebrities trapped in normal people's bodies.
"He's a tranny chaser," says Josh. "And where do tranny chasers find hot, horny trannies to hook up with? Online. Try Craigslist, Casual Encounters, search M4T. Where do you find hot, horny trannies that you can bring home to your mother in the Deep South? You don't. The sequined, G-stringed vixen that shook her tits in yo...

Then, in honor of that extraordinary season, Cavaliers coach Mike Brown was named NBA coach of the year, the first time a Cavaliers coach had won that honor since Bill Fitch - the team's first coach - won the honor for the "Miracle in Richfield" team of 1975-76.
Some have said that [James]' talk about exorcising the ghosts of Cleveland's doomed sports history - from "the drive" to "the fumble" to Jose Mesa's World Series collapse - is risky business, that it puts too much pressure on him if the team fails to achieve its goal. James seems to demur.
I'm at a point in my career where if I'm not competing for the NBA Championship then I'm wasting my time and my teammates' time, so to be in a position in the playoffs and fight for the NBA Championship I'm looking forward to it," James said ...
