On October 6, 2009, the EPA adopted amendments to the September 15, 1997, new source performance standards and emissions guidelines for hospital/medical/infectious waste incinerators. The amendments were developed in response to the March 2, 1999, remand of the 1997 hospital/medical/infectious waste incinerators regulations by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit (the Court), which requested further explanation of the EPA's reasoning in determining the minimum regulatory emission standards for new and existing hospital/medical/infectious waste incinerators. Oneok to sell retail natural gas subsidiaryOneok Inc. has agreed to sell Oneok Energy Marketing Co. to Constellation Energy Group Inc. for $22.5 million plus working capital.Oneok Energy Marketing has 39 employees, 14 in Tulsa and the remaining ones in other parts of Oklahoma and Kansas, Texas, Nebraska and Wyoming.Oneok Energy Marketing provides natural gas products and services to retail customers in the Mid-Continent and Texas. Graybeal wins statewide award
Ronald Graybeal, administrator at Calvert Manor Health Center, of Rising Sun, recently was named the 2011 Administrator of the Year by the Health Facilities Association of Maryland. The Graybeal family, pioneers of long-term care in Maryland, founded the center as the Graybeal Rest Home in 1947, and he has carried on the tradition for 21 years. Graybeal was honored by the Cecil County Chamber of Commerce for running the 2011 Small Business of the Year. The center has been named a top nursing home in Maryland by U.S. News and World Report.

Boost for Maryland Solar Farm facilityFirstEnergy Corp. of Akron, Ohio, said its FirstEnergy Solutions subsidiary has signed a long- term agreement to purchase the output from the Maryland Solar Farm, a $70 million, green energy facility planned by Easton-based Maryland Solar LLC for 250 acres of state-owned correctional facility land near Hagerstown. Under the terms of the agreement, FirstEnergy Solutions will purchase the facility's 20-megawatt output for 20 years. The long-term purchase power agreement demonstrates that Maryland Solar will have a guaranteed source of revenue, a critical milestone for the project to obtain financing. In addition, FirstEnergy Solutions will obtain the Renewable Energy Credits produced by the facility.
