Fans react to Grizzlies' new acquisition Regarding the acquisition of Darko Milicic: What am I missing? Hasn't he been, up to now, regarded primarily as (Joe) Dumars' Folly, perhaps the worst No. 2 overall pick in history, considering whom the Pistons could have drafted? He's been pretty much a bust, hasn't he? Dumars and Co. certainly gave up on him. I understand that teams crave big guys, especially mobile big guys, but isn't he more the promise of greatness than greatness itself? In that respect, isn't he exactly like Stromile Swift, who has fooled us twice now? Everyone agrees that the potential is there but the follow-through has been spotty at best. Negative talk puzzles I find a lot of the negative comments about the Darko Milicic signing published in The Commercial Appeal (last Saturday) to be offensive, based on their lack of knowledge and overall sports stupidity. If you feel the need to criticize, at least, how do they say, "come correct.

Pistons' teenager Darko Milicic knows what it's like to be Shawn Bradley and Sam Bowie, even if Milicic wasn't alive when Bowie was a rookie. This year's rookie class is all about No. 1 - LeBron James - and No. 3 - Carmelo Anthony. We want Pistons' President Joe Dumars to do everything in his power to sign Rasheed Wallace after this season. I don't care if the Pistons get knocked out in the first round of the NBA Playoffs; Dumars has got to find some magic and get Wallace under contract for at least the next four years.
