SOUTH JORDAN -- A 26-year-old Murray woman was arrested early Sunday after she allegedly dragged a police officer by car about 30 yards on an I-15 onramp.
South Jordan Police Sgt. Dan Starks said officer Sam Winkler was not seriously injured in the incident.

Mary Winkler's recent appeals court petition to regain custody of her three daughters is legally "frivolous" and should be dismissed, according to court papers filed Monday by the parents of her slain husband.
Dan and Diane Winkler, whose son Matthew Winkler was shot to death last year by Mary Winkler, have had custody of the girls since the shooting and are seeking to adopt them.

The former Princeton police officer who made headlines last year when he accused training officers of beating him unconscious at the State Police Academy has been charged with attempting to negotiate sexual favors with a teenage boy.

WOOSTER -- Helen Alice Miller, 90, of Swanson Boulevard, Wooster, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, at her home.
Helen was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Dalton, the daughter of the late Joel and Martha (Gerber) Zuercher. She married Homer E. "Pat" Miller on Nov. 2, 1941. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2000. She was a 1937 graduate of Dalton High School and had retired from the Wooster Brush Co. after 17 years of service, having previously worked at Howard Johnson's. She and her husband had operated the family farm where she had resided for 40 years near Hermanville before moving to Wooster. She was a member of Creston Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening, quilting, bowling and her grandchildren.

Kanawha County prosecutor Mark Plants will not press charges against the police instructors involved in the April training incident that left Princeton Police Officer Christopher Winkler with a blood clot in his brain.
The decision comes after prosecutors reviewed the independent investigation report by the West Virginia Commission on Special Investigations.
