[Dan Kimball] emphasizes that "we are at the preliminary alternatives stage of the GMP process; many options for managing the park that have been suggested since initiation of the GMP have been incorporated into the preliminary alternatives. The park's primary interest at this point in time is to obtain your recommendations and feedback on the concepts and ideas that have been incorporated into the preliminary alternatives.

MIAMI9 FL (ENS) - A 7,000-acre fire, most likely human-caused, in Everglades National Park will be fully suppressed, according to park superintendent Dan Kimball, because it is burning close to two populations of a federally listed endangered species, the Cape Sable seaside sparrow.
Currently assisting in the suppression efforts are firefighters from the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Florida Division of Forestry; with assistance from one single-engine air tanker; and two helicopters. On central Florida's Atlantic coast, where at least 100 homes have gone up in smoke since Mother's Day, the fires are believed to be deliberately set.

This observation is sparked by the weekly Bible study series I currently am sharing with our congregation, titled "They Love Jesus, But Not The Church" by Dan Kimball.
The spiritual gist of the book and DVD is to better understand why many people today are so turned off by the church, and yet they speak so highly about Jesus. This is not true in all cases, but as you survey the landscape of the church as a whole, you'll notice stagnation or decline in membership and a blatant distrust and disregard for those who represent the church.

I always remembered Norway, Maine, and the kids on my football team," said Dan Kimball, 79, who lives in Lincoln, Calif., just outside Sacramento. He's planning to come to Portland with a friend on Aug. 8 and drive to Norway around Aug. 10 in hopes of linking up with team members he hasn't seen since 1959.

The old saw about politics making for strange bedfellows could not possibly be more true than in the motion filed Friday afternoon seeking to intervene in the state Supreme Court cases challenging legislative redistricting.
Two of the parties to that motion - which seeks to have the Senate plan, as well as the House of Delegates redistricting plan thrown out as unconstitutional - are former Sen. Frank Deem, R- Wood, and current Delegate Barbara Fleischauer, D-Monongalia.
... attorneys (working with House counsel Dan Kimball) will be able to construct a defense that the Hous...
