- Rydex Launching Currency Etfs
NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com) - Rydex Investments said it expects to list six currency funds on the New York Stock Exchange. These will track the value of the British pound, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Mexican peso, Swedish krona andSwiss franc. The mutual fund company launched a similar fund for the euro, Euro CurrencyShares, on the NYSE in December 2005. That product has US$650 million in assets, with about 300,000 shares trading daily on average, said Steve Sachs, director of trading at Rydex, speaking at a press conference. The Euro CurrencyShares fund is being used by a range of investors, including institutions that use it in wrap accounts, he said.
