SHEPHERDS NEED TO CARE FOR THEIR CHARGES Pope Leo X, born Giovanni di Lorenzo de Medici, became Pope in 1513 and wrote in a letter to his brother, Giuliano, "Since God has given us the papacy, let us enjoy it." It seems nothing has changed in 500 years. The Curia takes good care of itself and the sheep can forage for themselves. Shame on the popes and shame on the Curia.
