BANGOR - Literacy Volunteers of Bangor will offer an English Language Learner tutor training program from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 25 to Nov. 15, at United Technologies Center, 200 Hogan Road.
The 18-hour course provides an overview of second-language acquisition skills, understanding and working with cultural differences, teaching strategies and lesson planning. Teaching experience, foreign language skills or a degree in education are not required.
