OMAK (AP) -- Two large companies have pulled their longtime sponsorship of the Omak Stampede and Suicide Race after lobbying by an animal rights group. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Diageo PLC, the London-based maker of Crown Royal whisky, Captain Morgan rum, Smirnoff vodka and other alcoholic beverages, together contributed about $1,850 of the event's $160,000 budget. Losing their sponsorship won't halt the popular rodeo, Stampede President Jim Hensarling said.
