SPRINGFIELD - While many Democrats were elated with the election of Barack Obama, the elevation of Illinois' junior senator to the White House on Nov. 4 appears to have irked Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
In the 78-page criminal complaint filed against the Illinois governor Tuesday, Blagojevich uses foul language in multiple instances to describe the president-elect.

I cannot get enough of Rod Blagojevich. I cannot avert my eyes. It's like gawking at a car wreck. Blagojevich is the governor of Illinois who has been charged in a 76-page criminal complaint with conspiracy and soliciting bribes, with threatening to deny funding to a children's hospital unless he got campaign kickbacks and with trying to sell the Senate seat formerly held by President Barack Obama.
Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9, was impeached in the Illinois House on Jan. 9 by a vote of 114-1 and is now on trial in the Illinois Senate.

Since the governor did not like certain editors on the editorial page of the Chicago Tribune, he wanted them axed by the financiers of the paper. That respected editorial page has been calling for the governor's resignation and impeachment.
One of the paper's financial backers was reported to have told the governor's team that there were some layoffs coming and that "section," meaning the editorial department, would be gutted.
Well, even if the Tribune Company was contemplating such political maneuvers for financial reward (that would eventually be exposed anyway in a story) to fire some of its editors, they have now been put on alert with the public watching and would do anything to save face. If the tactic was to use layoffs to remove those editors, they will now have to resort to som...

Five days after Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich was arrested in a "pay-for-play" scandal, President-elect Barack Obama's transition team has yet to reveal the name of the "president-elect advisor" mentioned six times in a federal criminal complaint in the case or what the adviser's conversations with the governor were about.
Chicago power player and Mr. Obama's newly named chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, continued Saturday to decline to comment, even as reports emerged that the Illinois congressman had conversations with Mr. Blagojevich's staff both before and after the Nov. 4 presidential election about Mr. Obama's preferred candidates for his now-vacated Senate seat.
